It’s a traditional agricultural city, whose animal husbandry is one of the three leading industries of local agriculture. Changyi City has been actively adjusting the structure of animal husbandry in recent years. It implemented the project named “one million high-quality pig breeding base” to build a high-quality pig industry chain and a dominant city in breeding and supplying pigs. 795,000 high-quality pigs were for sale, the animal husbandry industry and related industry output value reached 110 billion RMB and the animal husbandry and related share in this city’s total agricultural income accounted for 39.8% in 2011. So it has become the dominant industry in rural economic development and increasing peasant income. Behind the high input and high output, we should face up to the private and disorder slaughtering. A number of small plants and workshops stand everywhere. By gathering with an inspection group of relevant departments to make unannounced visits in some slaughter workshops, the author found that their health conditions and slaughter equipments can not keep up with the growing development of the industry at all.
