Abstract As broadband access intemet developing，it is becoming every internet carder’S needs to establish such manageable system by using broadband interact to access，verify and charge system．Currently,the main technologies of Ethernet access are PPPOE、DHCP+WEB、 802．1x． PPPoE is currently the main authentication protocol of xDSL net and Ethernet access system，therefore it is keep堍and developing the PPP protocol’S advantages，and also very easily achieve the connection of the traditional dialing access system．But PPPoE has some disadvantages，such as the confusion of authenticmion stream and operation stream．The operation stream has the same enclosure with authentication stream，except the operation has unnecessarily PPP enclosure，also the operation stream limited the implementation of application of media stream in the broadband net． Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol is a protocol to connect the client to server．By depending the improved DHCP,THE DHCP and user management could exist in the whole system as a sideband software system without effecting the whole interact domain,and at the same time，it could achieve the concentric control of the operation stream similarly诵也style of RADIUS．It satisfy the operational and manageable user authentication‘S requirement,but it has the disadvantages such as non—visitable，discontinuity,and less security． IEEE 802．1 x access system is new technology of authentication of user access system．It is only concentrated on the open and close of the port of user terminal．For legal users，this port open otherwise it is closed all the time．The reaction ofauthentication is depending on the changes of status of port，with avoiding the IP address protocol which appears in other authentication’S system．Therefore the IEEE 802．1x iS the simplest． In this paper,a further study of those three authentication systems was conducted，and also pointed out their appropriate fields which could be applied by comparing their advantages and disadvantages．I
