Abstract: Effects of temperature on the germination of P inus sy lv esiris var. mongol ica and Picea mong ol ica
w ere studied by observing their germination characteristics such as germination rate, energy , index, mean
gemination time, length of radicle and hypocotyl, radicle/ hypocotyl ratio and vigor index. T he results
show ed that different germination temperatures significantly influenced germination characteristics mentioned
above. The germination rate of P inus sy lv esir is var. mongolica and P icea mongol ica w ere all fairly high in
the temperature range from 10 to 2 , temperature range of 20 to 2 w as their optimum range.
