AbstractA Abstract A Translation Proj ect Report for Ancient Sichuan： Treasure from a Los t Civilization(excerpts) Abstract MTI Candidate：Fan Tingting Advisor：Li Qingqing This is a translation project report，which is about the translation process of Afterword，Appendix，and Contributors from the book Ancient Sichuan：Treasurefrom a Lost Civilization，chiefly edited by Robert Bagley,a professor of art and archaeology at Princeton University．This paper will be divided into five parts．Part one is task description，including the translation project’S background，objective，significance，and structure．Part two is source text analysis，which consists of an introduction to the author, the main content，and the features of the source text．Part three mainly introduces the theoretical foundation of this translation project，Professor Liu Miqing’S cultural information in language translation theory．This translation theory includes the overall balance of cultural translation and the panoramic language level scanning．The overall balance of cultural translation offers three aspects for translators to choose the best translation strategy．As for the panoramic language level scanning，it is a way to select and classify cultural information in source language．Part four is translation practice．In this chapter,the author tries to overcome the cultural obstacles in language under the guidance of Professor Liu Miqing’S cultural information in language translation theory, SO as to achieve the cultural communication between different countries．First of all，the author tries to choose the proper translation strategy for the source text under the guide of the overall balance of cultural translation．Then，select the cultural information under the guidance of the panoramic language level scanning．At last，focus on the culture—loaded word i n Ancient Sichuan：Treasure from a Lost CiviliZntion．the core of cultural information，and explore the specific translation methods．Part five is a conclusion of the whole tr
