The ethnomedicine of Thai-Dai has its own characteristics comparing with other medicine systems. Taking it as “the science of the concrete” and trying to internalize the existing studies about it in both diachronic and synchronic way, we review the history of this ethnomedicine and introduce its world view, etiology, therapy, pharmacy and healing skill, and so on. A rethinking about the encountering of this ethnomedicine with modernism in an anthropo- logical perspective is also included.
