Our country has abundant gypsum resource. Adding admixtures is one of most eff icient w ays to improve technological and economical level , and promote scientific progress of gypsum industry. It is also the core technology of high performance gypsum- based m aterials. In this paper, the status and developm ent tendency of research on bu ilding gypsum adm ixtures su ch as w ater- redu cing agents, retardant s, and w ater- retention agents both at hom e and abroad are review ed . Som e problems existing in research and application of adm ixtures for gypsum have been put f orward.
