This study points out the disadvantages of traditional Chinese reading teaching in universities. Based on the existing research results and the characteristics of reading Chinese as a foreign language, this study proposes a basic teaching model for middle- advanced Chinese reading teaching based on flipped classrooms. The model is applied to Vietnamese middle-advanced Chinese reading teaching. Finally, it reflects on the advantages of flipping the classroom model compared to the traditional classroom and the difficulties that may be encountered in the implementation process, in order to improve the efficiency of classroom teaching and improve students’ learning.
