Company Logo Calculating of thrust When air is not expanded sufficiently in engine, the static pressure at the outlet is more than atmospheric pressure. If so, the differential pressure between inlet and outlet can produce an additional thrust. Usually, gas is expanded sufficiently in the gas turbine engine, thus outlet gas pressure equals to the atmospheric pressure. So is very small and doesn’t need to be taken into consideration.
