Study Study on Protection of Cultivated Land Based on Urban Growth Boundary --—-——·---——Case Study of Lianchi and Jingxiu District Name：Wang Yongqiang Supervisor：Associate Professor Wang Yinchuan Docent Chen Ying Major：Agricultural Resource Utilization Abstract With the accelerated process of urbanization in China and the rapid growth of social economy，the urban land rapidly expand，occupying a large．amount of arable land resources，making the protection of arable land is increasingly difficult，threatening the security of agricultural land．The purpose of this study is to explore how to balance the relationship between urban construction land and agricultural land，SO as to achieve the purpose of saving farmland． This study applies the ecological footprint method，in-depth analysis of the ecological environment，cultivated land resources，water resources，economic development and population growth factors affecting urban growth boundary，and the growth boundary of Lianchi and Jingxiu area of Baoding is set，research on problem of cultivated land protection．The main conclusions are as follows： (1)Ecological footprint of the study area is far greater than the ecological carrying capacity，in a serious deficit state，water resource is seriously insufficient，and the ecological pressure index is in a state of extreme insecurity．Ecological pressure index reached three in a state of extreme insecurity in 201 4．In nearly a decade，the water resources of urban carrying several dozen times higher than its population and GDP, greatly limits the development of economy，However，with the influence of the south to North Water Transfer Project，the carrying capacity of the regional water resources will meet the economic development，and its negative impact will be decreased． (2)Comprehensive study motivation and resistance on the border of urban expansion，it is concluded that the reasonable capacity of population in the study area in time order number is：Comprehensive study on the power
