Especially in Heilongjiang province which is riched in coal,and there are many power plants.So the system of the automated overturning apparatus is important for the security and the economy. This paper studies and summarizes many related researches at home and abroad.At last this paper proposes the design programme of the automated overturning apparatus based on CAN bus.Through a great deal of theoretical research and practical test, this programme will save the time and the cost of the project without affecting production as far as possible.At the same time this programme has no needs to chang the original mechanical parts, only to improve the electrical parts. This paper does a lot of research in MCU and CAN bus, and developes an intelligent hardware circuit.This circuit is controlled by 89C51. The communications interface circuit is composed by the SJA1000 and PCA82C250.The power interface circuit is composed by the optical coupler and thyristor.And the assistance circuit is composed by 8255A, 8279 and so on.The circuit has many advantages, such as small size, light weight, anti-interference capability, low cost, high reliability, flexibility and so on.Besides the circuit can develop and improve easily later. This circuit can collect the operating status information and the action feedback information. The equipments wiht the different voltage levels can be controlled effectivly and isolated reliably, such as the optical encoder, frequency changer, contactors and so on. According to the system process and the simultaneous collection of the equipment operation, the application layer’s agreement of the CAN bus has been defined,
