Abs tract: T he B ing lin Cave- tem ple w as a vibrantw ay station on the O ld S ilk Road. A s a p ivotal po ints
of m ounta in and w ater along the great trade route, the five m ain branches of route concentrated here on the
eastern end of the S ilk Road: the Southern road of Q in long Route, the m id of Q iang C lan Road, the ancien t
road of theT ang and T ibetan, T he Datouba Valley route, H ongchiling Route. By a carfu l study of inscriptions
w ritten by donors in B ing ling C ave - tem ple and other re lative h istorical records, this art icle tries to prove
sure ly that the mi portant ro le B ing ling C ave- temp le had p layed on the Anc ien t trade route and g ives a new
ev idences for the site to be on the list ofW orld H eritage.
