and and nationality indicates that a single animal word may have different symbolic meanings or even totally opposite symbolic meaning due to different cultural background． This thesis shows the generation of symbolic meanings of the animal words in ShOing(诗经)．Apart from a few of these symbolic meanings of animal words come directly from myth and ancient totem culture，most animal words gain their symbolic meanings through people’S metaphorical way of thinking．This thesis simulates BIRD，BEAST, INSECT and FISH concept flames and analyzes the cognitive foundations of the generation of the symbolic meanings．Each concept flame contains a lot of elements，while not all of them would be activated simultaneously in a certain context，thus some elements would be highlighted and others hidden．Through people’S metaphorical thinking， the animal words gain their symbolic meanings，and are widely accepted by people due to similar experience． The pragmatic effects of these animal words in shiji．g(诗经)can be mainly discussed from three aspects：replacing taboos in that period of time；vivifying the poetry language and motivating people’S imaginations． In a word，through the use of these animal words，the poets are able to express their feelings clear and the readers can understand the theme of the poems better． Key Words：舭{，啦(诗经)；animal words；symbolic meanings； generation；pragmatic effects 万方数据 摘要前人对《诗经》中动物词的研究主要从文学意象，文化背景以及 摘要 前人对《诗经》中动物词的研究主要从文学意象，文化背景以及 翻译等角度进行，成果颇丰且为后来的研究做了贡献，但也仍存在不 足：未关注《诗经》中动物词象征意义的生成。本研究拟从认知语言 学角度填补前人研究的空缺，并从此窥探先秦人们的知识结构和认知 操作。 本研究主要参照朱熹、陈子展、方玉润、周振甫及程俊英等学者 对《诗经》的注解，整理出《诗经》中具有象征意义且涵盖了鸟、兽、 虫、鱼的动物词。基于这些学者的论著，本文将《诗经》中这些动物 词的象征意义分为四类：情感象征意义、品德象征意义、政治象征意 义和其他象征意义。此外，本研究总结了这些象征意义的三个主要特 征，即体验性，多重性和民族性。体验性表明动物词的象征意义并非 任意的，它们与人类和动物的互动体验密切相关；多重性主要体现了 相同的动物词在不同的语境下会有不同的象征意义；民族性则说明了 一个动物词因受不同的文化背景的影响，而表现出不同甚至是完全相 反的象征意义。 本研究展现了《诗经》中动物词象征意义的生成。除了少数动物 词的象征意义直接来自于神话和中国古代图腾文化，《诗经》中大多 数动物词的象征意义源自人们的隐喻思维。本文拟构了“鸟”、“兽、 “虫”、“鱼”概念框架，每个框架都包含了大量的元素，但在特定 的语境下时，并非所有的元素都会被激活。因此，部分元素会突显而 万方数
