College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Donghua University Shanghai 201620 China) Abstract Polyimide insulating particles were prepared by coating activated carbon with polyimide. The obtained insulating particles were mixed with particle electrodes to constitute the packing layer in three dimensional electrode reactor in which electrocatalytic oxidation of dye wastewater was carried out. The volume ratio of insulator to activated carbonacid and alkaline resistance of the polyimide insulating particlesand operation conditions of electrocatalytic oxidation such as electrolysis voltage and current density were investigated. The results show that the optimum volume ratio of activated carbon particles and insulating particles of the packing layer is 13the polyimide insulating particles have excellent electrical insulation propertystrong anti acid and alkalilong performance life.
