Abst Abst ract I choose creat ion of tamping sand with xiangxi regional characteristics as my post graduate creation motif．With xiangxi 10cal conditions， customs， folk culture and natural scenery as a big background， tamping sand is a breakthrough point for me to understand xiangxi． Here the people are simple and honest． Smoke cufl cottages， fert i 1e farmland， dense jun91e， rol l ing hills and gur91ing brook form the beautiful scenery of xiangxi． It deeply attracted me and it also inspired sketch creat ion enthusiasm in me．HaVing three times deep research into tamping sand paint ing， I determined my graduat ion creat ion theme． 工n order to complete the creation． I combed the context of the deVelopment of Chinese paint ing in theory first， reading many related theory books． I tried to put the theory into pract ice to make my paint ings more convinc ing． I copi ed some of the predencessors’ works， espec ial ly of the four who were famous painters in Yuan Dynasty and the four monks 1iterati painters in Qing Dynasty． During the period of being a post graduate， 1 went to xiangxi to sketch for many times with my tutor， c01 lect ing a large amount of data and carrying out l ife sketch pract ice． Under the guidance of the tutor， I started to create again and eventual ly fini shed my works， 工took the sketch in the form of smal 1 paint ings instead of big panoramic 1andscape composition mode， which better reflected my feelings on the tamping sand 1andscape． My creation pursues the purity and freshness． With cal 1 igraphy pen show， it is bone at 1 ine foru and ful l of easy wi l lfulness and the inspirat ion of cal l igraph． I made every effort to embody the special elements of xiangxi and geographic conditions of natural simpl icity． P1acing my feel ings in the landscape， 1 want to express my 10Ve for culture of xiangxi， the yearning for a quiet 1 ife and return to nature． Key wOrds： Sketch： Creat ion： Nature： Landscape： paint ing 万方数据 IV 万方数据 万方数
