Abstract“Overcoming Abstract “Overcoming the sword without a sword’’-—-discourse upon the spirit in creation of post-modem art．The origin of this text is made a relationship between‘‘Overcoming the sword without a swordwhich is the realm of martial arts well known from Jin Yong’S novels and the spirit in creation of post—modem art． My ultimate objective is neither for some kind of distinct conclusion nor giving the reader misconception of some kind．This text is merely a visual angle that you can see the post—modem art through a new understanding from east to west．And therefore，it is also can be regarded as the neodoxy and research results of my text． Every ethnic Chinese person or people knows Jin Yong’S novels likes know the common sense．‘‘Overcoming the sword without a sword’’ is a locus classicus in the original．It is not only described the superlative realm of martial arts，but also metaphorically shown the ideal of Chinese traditional philosophy,such as Perfect Harmony,Understand，Freedom， and Lightheartedness．Besides，“Overcoming the sword without a sword’’ in the original text means“no longer relied on weaponry．Bushes，trees， bamboo sticks or rocks，all could be my swords．So，If we can change the“sword”into the skill of art，it should be extend as：no longer relied on skills．Bushes，trees，bamboo sticks or rocks，all could be my skills．In other words，“Overcoming the sword without a sword’’means：everything ．3． could could be used on artistic creation，even without any skills if only the notion iS suitable． Post-modem art originated from the theory of“Readymade’’as well as the idea of“anti-art’’by Marcel Duchamp and his famous artwork “fountain”．Even though there are SO many schools，artists，and artworks have come into being afterwards，nothing more than the purpose to make life and art vaguely．That is to say,everything could be used on artistic creation to enable inartistic things to become art，and enable art to become inartistic things．Thus the art will be achieved freed
