A stract: Onemutation and two different haplotypeswere foundwhen the fifth exon of GH gene sequences of 16 Leiqiong cattlewere analyzed. Togetherw ith wt o homologous sequences of Bayingole yak and sequences of zebu (Bos indicus), Bos taurus andBosgrunniens andw ith the sequence ofBubalus bubalis as the outgroup, the fifth exon ofGH gene sequences of 16 Leiqiong cattle w ere aligned and the base composition and nucleotide variation of GH gene were analyzed. The phylogenetic treeswere constructed by the NJ m ethod and theMP m ethod respectively, both supporting almost the sam e topology.
