Abstract: The contents of aromatic oil and clove phenol in three different dryness leaves namely fresh lea,f sem i-
dry leaf and dry leafwere determ ined and analyzed. The results indicated thatafter drying, the contents of aromatic
oil in leaves ofC 1z eylan icum showed the tendency of decrease, and the contents of clove phenolalso decreased sig-
nificantly. It is therefore suggested, the extraction of aromatic oil from C 1z ey lan icum should use fresh leaves asm a-
teria.l
