Teaching contents: Unit 3 Where did you go? Part B Let’s talk.
The analysis of teaching contents:
The topic of this unit is “Where did you go”. It’s about holiday. It’s related to students’ daily life, so it’s easy to raise students’ interests and it will be helpful to improve students’ communication skills. Part B is the second part of this unit, so students have already learned something about holidays. In this lesson, the main objective is to guide students to master the activities on holidays and enable them to ask about holidays with “How was your holiday? It was……. I……. ”.
The analysis of students:
The students in Grade 6 have learned English for almost four years. They can understand many words and sentences. Most of them have established their own learning habits and they have developed strong interests and confidence in studying English now.
Teaching objectives:
A. Knowledge objectives:
1. Students can understand and say the new word phrases: ate fresh food, went swimming, took pictures, bought gifts.
2. Students can ask and answer with “How was your holiday? It was……. I…….”.
B. Ability objectives:
1. Students can ask and answer about holidays with the sentence pattern “How was your holiday? It was……. I…….” in real situation.
2. Students can develop their abilities of listening, speaking and cooperation.
C. Emotion objectives:
1. Students can know share their holidays.
2. Students can eat more fresh food eat less junk food.
Teaching difficulties and key points:
A. Teaching key points:
1. Students can master the phrases.
2. Students can share their holidays with their friends.
B. Teaching difficulties:
1. Students can master the new phrases.
2. Students can communicate about their holidays with their friends in real situation.
Teaching methods:
Communicative Approach, TPR, Situational Teaching Method
