PAGE PAGE 3 perspectives and ways for us ,and making us to analysis and research the folk creation arts mainly from the aspects of using function,material selection,making technology,technical contents,and human factor,etc. Thus, thoroughly study the natural ecological view, ethical view, emotional characteristics, technological thoughts and function feature which contained in the folk creation arts,and provide important inspiration and reference for the development of modern artistic design. This article, from the perspective of the art design,with the methods of field investigation, historical literature research,archaeological typology, cultural anthropology, etc, taking the hope piles art of the Shaanxi Weibei area as the research object,and basing on research of the artistic features of the Hope Piles, the carving skills of stonemason, and combining the discussion of the relationship among the hope piles, masons and farmers to explain the design thoughts of the hope piles art. Finally, puting forward the implications to the development of Chinese modern artistic design from the design thoughts.
