三. 教学重难点:
(一)can, could
A. Using “can/ could” to talk about ability
We use “can” to say that we are able to do something now.
We use “could” to say that we were able to do something in the past.
e. g. I can (cannot /can’t /can not ) swim. What about you?
He could (couldn’t /could not) dance in the past. What about you?
Ask and answer questions about ability like this:
1. Can…run? Yes,…can.
No,…cannot/can’t.
2. Could…swim in the past?
Yes, …could.
No, …couldn’t/could not.
can表示现在的能力(be able to do…),can’t 表示现在不能
I ______ swim, but I can’t teach you now.
_______ you ski? Sorry, I can’t.
could 表示过去的能力,couldn’t 表示过去不能。
She _______ play basketball last year, but she can play basketball now after practising for a year.
could 与以下的时间状语连用:
last month
when you were ten
five days ago
six years ago
when you were born
in the past

B. Using can/could to talk about possibility
When we want to express something is possible, we use can/could
can/could ---- present
(the possibility: cancould)
could ---- past
can表示现在的可能性, 很可能. could表示现在的可能性时比can的可能性小. (something is possible), can’t表示现在不可能
1. Climbing the mountain ______ be dangerous if we are not careful.
2. It’s too late. The shop is closed. You ______ buy any food.
could表示过去的可能性(something was possible), couldn’t表示过去不可能
1. I wore trainers an hour ago. We ______ play tennis.
2. He forgot his key. He ________ open the door.

(二)感叹句的几种句型
What +a/an + adj. + 可数名词单数(+主语+ 谓语)
What + adj. + 可数名词复数 (+主语+谓语)
What + adj. + 不可数名词 (+主语+谓语)
How + adj. + 主语 + 谓语
How + adv. + 主语 + 谓语
做题技巧:
看被感叹的部分是名词作中心词时,就用what, 再看该名词是可数名词的单数(用what a /an ) 还是可数名词复数(用what)或是不可数名词(用what).
被感叹部分如果是形容词或副词或动词,都用how.
他是一位多么勤奋的学生啊!
What a hard-working student he is!
这部电影多么有趣!
How interesting the film is!
What an interesting film it
