华中科技大学硕士学位论文 华 中 科 技 大 学 硕 士 学 位 论 文 II II Abstract Network long-distance teaching based on WWW is a chief mode for long distance education, providing a series of functions. Network answering system is an important part of this new education mode, which has the ability to undertake a considerable part of network teaching and make up the deficit of communication among the students and between the students and teachers in the process of network learning and teaching. Currently there have two structures for real-time distance communication: C/S and B/S; the former one realize the functions through the two parties of the system installing certain software; while the latter one provides a communication platform based on web browser with low requirements on the users, however, this structure demands high capacity of the server. This thesis focuses on developing a network answering system that is friendly with the users and at the same time spares the server the trouble of redundancy. Through in-depth research into the structure and characteristics of network teaching system, this thesis then brings forward the overall blueprint for structuring of the system. The thesis holds thorough analysis on the application needs of the system as well as its components and configuration according to the demands of answering function. The modularized design in which the system is sub-divided into several self-supporting independent modules is applied. The system is developed using ASP programming language; Access and SQL database technologies are applied to realize the functions of each module. The combined use of ASP, ACCESS, and IIS technologies brings dynamism, interactiveness, and high efficiency of the system. The system is built on B/S structure which enables the users not to install any software, providing great convenience. Also, all of the data in this system are dynamic, showing great flexibility.
