1、掌握新单词:
tall,medium,height,build,thin,heavy,curly,straight, hair,like,always .
2、学会句型:What does he look like ?

He is of medium build .
He has straight hair.
He always wears …
3、培养学生运用What does he /she look like ?He /she is /has/ wears …等句型来描述人物外貌特征。
教学重点
1、用于描述他人的单词:
tall, medium, height , build, thin ,heavy ,curly,straight, hair , like, always .
2、句 型:What does he look like ?
He is tall .
He is of medium build .
He has straight hair.
He always wears …
教学难点
灵活运用句型进行对人物外貌的描述。
教学过程
Step 1 Gessing game
Show a picture of Kenan.
Some clues (线索):He is thin.
He has short hair. He is very brave and smart. He is a detective(侦探). He is KeNan.
Step2 Presentation
Show pictures to present one type of describing people’s looks (short)
Present the new word (short) and the target language through the pictures: What does he look like? He is short.
Show the pictures with the new words on the computer . ( short ,tall,of medium height,fat/heavy,thin,of medium duild, short hair,long hair,straight hair,curly hair,black hair,blonde hair.etc)And try to describe the people .(What do they look like ?)
Get Ss to drill the sentences by asking and answering the question: What does he/she look like?
Step 3 Description about myself
我的自画像
用一两句话做自我介绍
I am tall / medium height / short .
I am heavy / medium build / thin .
I have __________ hair .
Step4 Pair work
Ask Ss to talk about the famouse people and make dialogues as following:
A: Who is your favorite actor/singer/player?
B: He/She is…
A: What does he/she look like?
B: He/She is … and … .
He/She has … hair.
Step 4 Challenge
There are eight numbers to choose.Ask students to choose any number and answer the questions.
step5.Listening
Activity 2a ,2b and exercise3.
1、Let the students listen to the recorder.
Then circle “is ” or “has ”,and fill in the blanks .
(Explain the different using of has and is.)
