武汉理工大学硕士学位论文Abstract 武汉理工大学硕士学位论文 Abstract The wireless communications are experiencing rapid development．Meanwhile， larger capacity and higher quality services a托in great demands．In future wireless communications，larger downlink capacity is required in contrast to the uplink in several cases．Therefore，it’S very necessary to improve channel capacity and quality oftransmission in the downlink． Multi—path fading and multi—user access；interference are two key factors which will influence the system capacity．Research has shown that transmit diversity techniques based on space-time block coding(STc)and beamforming Can effectively improve the performance of wireless communication systems．Space—time block coding links the channel coding and antenna diversity． It Can be used to provide diversity gain and high ability of anti multi-path fading．In addition,smart antenna techniques are widely considered as a method which Can effectively suppress multi-nser access interference．For a smart antenna array,the beams of the antenna array is designed to towards the signals of interests by adjusting the weight coefficients of sensor antenna$．By doing SO．multi-user c0一channel interference Can be efficiently eliminated． In order to achieve the advantages ofthe above two techniques in the same time， the transmit diversity based on multiple beams instead of independent antennas， combining transmit diversity and heamforming，ale widely investigated recently． Most of the existing studies，however,ale limited on flat Rayleigh channel．Based on existing works on transmit diversity techniques and beamforming approaches，a beams-based transmit diversity technique is proposed for multi—path fading channel environments in thesis．Furthmore，the application of beams-based transmit diversity technique in OFDM system is investigated．Performance of the proposed technique is examined by using Matlab-based simulation．The results show that the proposed scheme is feasible． Key words：Transmit Diversity Multi—
