甚麼是柳川?
What is Liuchuan?
原名為東大墩溪的柳川,是台中市重要的河川之一。自日治時期就遍植柳樹。政府遷台後,曾一度造成柳川兩岸景觀零亂,民國七十五年始大量拆除違建、重整規劃,讓城市脫胎換骨。柳川源於豐原市街南方,流經潭子、北屯及北、中、西、南等區,最後注入旱溪。中國醫藥大學附近的柳川,安靜地陪伴也默默記載著來來去去的學子們;詩情畫意的景色,不僅增添了美感,人文情懷也充滿了在此學習的青年們。每棵柳樹,都是一段歷史,即使留不住青春,卻也是成長的證據;每棵柳樹,都展示著一種人生哲學──樹身長得越高,柳葉彎得越低。
The original name of Liuchuan (Willow River) is East Dadun River, one of the significant rivers in Taichung City. During the Japanese Occupation, willows were widely planted along the river. After the government moved to Taiwan, the river banks were once cluttered. In 1986, demolitions of all illegal constructions started, the city was re-planned and restructured into a brand new and fresh image. Liuchuan originates from south of Fengyuan City, it flows through Tanzi, Beitun, North, Middle, West, and South District into Han River. Around the area of China Medical University, Liuchuan accompanies our students peacefully, records the come and go silently. Its poetic views enrich not only the magnificent sceneries, but also the humanity accomplishment of students who study here. Every willow is a part of our history; even though it could not hold our youth, it witnesses our growth. Every willow represents a philosophy; the higher the willow grows, the lower its wickers bow.
