II II ABSTRAC With the development of customer demand diversification and personalization, different and personalized custom products gradually replace the single production product, and become the main means and the goals for enterprise win the market. Modularization design method can not only meet the needs of clients customized, but also effectively shorten the development time. In addition, it can reduce development cost, and build a good foundation for more innovation. In the process of modular design, module partition is one of the key techniques of modular design. In the process of product module partition, according to its characteristics, we need to consider the integrity of the product itself and analyze the relations of its internal parts, so as to get a more reasonable module partition results. The rationality of the module partition is related to a product can be modular success. How to achieve this goal is the key of modular design research, this paper studied on the product module partition method based on the principle-function-structure. The specific research contents included the following aspects. First of all, we introduced mass customization, modular design technology and product module partition research status at home and abroad, and analyzed the technical characteristics, application about mass customization, module partition and the function-principle-structural design process model and so on. Then, we analyzed the product design process model based on function-principle- structure. Regarding the existing products as an object for module partition, we researched the related principles and quantitative method based on the function, principle, structure between the two parts.
