PAGE PAGE IV A research on present situation of university physical education curriculum in southern area of Jiangsu Abstract A research on present situation of university physical education curriculum in southern area of Jiangsu Abstract In order to strengthen the macro management and guidance to the work of physical education in Universities of Jiangsu Province, to promote the university to attaches importance and the supports to sports teaching, Department of education of Jiangsu Province established the university public sports curriculum construction evaluation system, and evaluated regular assessment of physical education curriculum from 2009 on. From 2010 to 2011, Some colleges and universities participated in public sports curriculum evaluation, problems in college sports curriculum gradually surfaced: some universities do not attach importance to public sports curriculum construction, and cannot set up public physical education by rules, becaus PE class is insufficient, the students physical exercise were affected. Secondly, in the aspect of construction of College PE teachers in Colleges and universities, the number of full-time teachers is low, and there are too many part-time teachers ,by which the quality of College PE course drops, which affects the physical and mental quality of students and the quality of personnel training; in addition, the sports resource is constrainted, and sports equipment is lacked, sports class development is not satisfying. PE class periods are reduced and personnel training quality?s decline violates with our country ?s university sports curriculum standard, which not only reduces the status of college sports curriculum, but also greatly influenced the reform and development of college sports curriculum.
