The world has cosmopolitan species. In this study, the author firstly selected Physcomitrella patens as an internal reference, which was the homogeneous moss and the genome size was announced, using B. argenteum as a testing material and flow cytometry measurements. The estimated genome size of B. argenteum was 568~589 Mb. In view of the referential genome size of P. patens obtained by genome sequencing was 487 Mb, the genome size might be reflected with deviation in fact. Therefore, the author secondly selected the Arabidopsis thaliana (L.) Heynh. ecotype Columbia as an internal reference, which had both the sequencing results (125 Mb) and genome size data (157 Mb) estimated by the flow cytometry. And the author estimated the genome size of B. argenteum again. Finally, the result indicated that the genome size of B. argenteum was 728.09 ±77.84 Mb and 1C DNA was about 0.75 pg. The data obtained in this study is helpful to the research on genome sequencing of B. argenteum. ,
