Analysis about current situation of the development of lacquer art in Japan and China Abstract China communicate lacquer art with Japan through the ancient and modern, but the development is different. Lacquer, which is an ancient traditional technology with a history of over seven thousand years in China, and its brilliant achievements was shocked by the world, but the development in modern is gradually declining. However, Japan carried forward the lacquer and was recognized by the world, the result must be reflected. This article introduces the lacquer art between China and Japan in the beginning, then analyzes the present situation and the comparative study of the lacquer art development, we could know the advantages and disadvantages by comparison. Through the comparison and analysis between China and Japan for the inheritance and development of lacquer art, we could put forward the prospects for further development of lacquer. By learning from Japan whose lacquer art development is slightly beyond us, we can get good suggestions. On the basis of inheriting the traditional technology, we can innovate and develop lacquer art in the application of life. In order to ensure the base of practical function, we could combine aesthetic and practical with modern lacquer art, and widen the road for the development of modern lacquer art. Government should use positive measures to spread the lacquer culture, enhance the recognition of people toward the lacquer art, and make the lacquer art with a unique charm deeply rooted in the national consciousness, which could create wider space for development of lacquer.
