The topic of this unit is about invitation. It teaches the students how to give or receive an invitation. It is close to the everyday life. So we’d better raise the students’ learning interest first.

prepare, prepare for, exam, flu, etc;
--Can you come to my party on Saturday afternoon?
--Sure , I’d love to.
Sorry, I can’t .I have to prepare for an exam.
2:learn to talk about the invitations.
3:Be able to understand the dialogues about invitations.
过程与方法:
1:Learn the new words and expressions in this period.
2:Do some listening practice.
3:Let students work in pairs and play games to learn the cooperative learning.

Let students know it’s polite to refuse one’s invitation if you can’t go.

教学过程:
Step1: Warming-up
Last Saturday afternoon, Snow Fairy wanted us to her snow party. Now, let’s enjoy the party.
(Show students the video by me, the photos were what I took last weekend)
Step 2: Presentation
Suppose I am the Snow Fairy. I said:
A: Can you come to my party?
B: Sure, I’d love to.
/Sorry, I can’t. I have to do my homework.
Other reasons:
I have to prepare for an exam.
/help my parents.
/ go to the doctor.
/meet my friend.
I have the flu….
Step 3: Practice
P65, 1a. Match the phrases with the pictures [a--e]. then check the answers.
You can say:
e.g.:
a is prepare for an exam.
Can you give us other reasons?
Step 4: Listening
1b. Listen and write the names (Tom, Kay, Anna and Wilson) next to the correct students in the picture.
Then ask students: Can Tim go to the party? And why?
Step 5: Group work
You are the students in the picture. Student A, invite three students to your party. Student B,C,D, give answers.
e.g.:
A: Can you come to my party
