Target language: Where did you/ they /he / she go on vacation?
I / They /He /She went to the mountains\New York City\beach\summer camp.
Did you go to the beach? Yes,I did.No, I didn’t.
2.Ability goals: (1)Learn the simple past tense
(2)Talk about past events
3.Moral goal: Let yesterday once more enjoy ourselves every day.

Teaching procedures:
Step 1.Warm up
Listen to an English song---Yesterday Once More,to review the simple past tense.
Step 2.Lead-in
T:I had a great weekend,because I went to Suzhou and had a good time.What about you,what did you do last weekend?How was your weekend?
S:It was great/good/bad/….I did my homework/stayed at home/went to a movie/….
T:OK.This class we’ll continue to use the past tense to talk about our vacations.Now let’s learn Unit10. First look at some pictures,please tell me where they went on vacations.
Show students the pictures one by one,and ask some students to answer if necessary.
Step 3. 1a This activity provides writing and reading skills using the target language.
Look at the pictures,different people did different activities.Match the activities with the pictures.
Check the answers together.
Read the phrases together,every phrase read twice.
Step 4.1b1c This activity provides listening and speaking practice with the target language.
Listen and number the people in the picture.Play the recording twice then check the answers.
According to the answers,ask and answer the activities people did in 1b. For example: Where did Tina go on vacation? /She went to the mountains.
Step 5 2a,2b. These activities provide listening and writing practice using the target language.
