Optimum conditions of extracting saponin from
onion seed by microwave

Abstract ：Extracting saponin from onion seed by microwave with methanol .The influence of methanol
concentration，microwave time，microwave power and ratio of material to liquid on saponin yield were in-
vestigated.The result showed that the optimum process condition is methanol concentration 100％，ratio of
material to liquid 1∶25 g／mL，microwave frequency 400 W，microwave time 25 min，the yield of saponin is
6.87％.
