By choosing a blade segm ent adjacent to the root of a certain helicop ter rotor blade, CATIA w as used to establish the 3D model of the blade segm ent, and then its fin ite elem ent modelw asw orked out through ANSYS sofwt are. The static strength of the rotor blade segm ent structure w ith d ifferent position and direction penetra tion dam age was analyzed. By the APD ( ANSYS Param eter Design anguage) program of the sofwt are, the stress and strain nephogram of the blade structure, and the strength ratios of each componentw ere got under co- effect of centrifugal force, flap p ing m oment and sh mi mym om entw ithou t considering the gravity of the blade segm ent itself. It is shown that the strength ratios of the blade beam and sk in are all greater than 1 in each dam age case, w hich m eans that the beam and the skin are safe w ith pene tration dam age. But the front spar, the rear spar and the w ing box w ill fail after they are shocked by penetration dam age, wh ich w ou l
