ABSTRACT
As the increasing penetration of the wind power in the power systems, the wind turbine generation system has become more influential to the grid. In order to protect the generation systems, a lot of wind turbines will trip from the grid during the faults, which inevitably leading adverse effect to the grid. As a result, in order to improve the security and stability of the grid, the power system operator has proposed a very strict requirement for the low voltage ride-through (LVRT) capability of the grid-connected wind turbine generation systems, which means that the wind turbine generation system should not only keep connecting to the grid during the grid faults, but also generate reactive power to support the grid voltage. Considering the various advantages of the flywheel energy storage system such as fast charging and discharging, long service life, easy installation, and cleaning operation, this dissertation intend to study the low voltage ride-through control strategy for direct-driven permanent magnet wind power generation system with flywheel energy storage unit(FESU).
① The mathematical model of the direct-driven permanent magnet wind power
generation system with flywheel energy storage unit was established. The steady-state control strategies for the generator-side, grid-side and flywheel-side converter were proposed and verified by simulation results. These works lay the foundation for the investigation of operation and control strategy of the direct-driven permanent magnet wind power generation system with FESU under the grid fault conditions.
