Abstract M ethylmercury in wat er, sediment and soil samples is preconcent rated onto a sulphy dryl cotton adsor-
bent and analyzed by capillary column GC-ECD. A comparison is made about analy sis of methylmercury betw een
capillary column and packed column. The results show that the detection limit of capillary column analy sis is
0. 5p , but packed column is 2p . The precision of capillary column analy sis is also superior t o packed column.
