Teaching steps
1 Warm up
Find clues game
T: A crime happened in our city yesterday. But the criminal escaped. There are some clues of the criminal in this tall building. Let’s find them!
T: Where is the criminal’s hat?
Ss: It’s on the twelfth floor.
T: Right! Where is the criminal’s…?
[设计意图]找线索抓罪犯的游戏能够吸引学生们的注意力,激发他们的兴趣,为序数词的学习做铺垫。
2 Presentation
Then the teacher present the ordinal numbers. Let the students read and understand with the help of the flash cards.
The teacher asks one student:
“When is your birthday?”
Lead the students to answer by “It’s on (months)(ordinal numbers)”
Then write down the sentences on the blackboard. Watch the video of let’s learn part, imitate the pronunciation.
[设计意图]自然而然的引出重要句型,使学生易于理解,模仿跟读原汁原味的发音,让学生纠正错误发音。
3 Practice
The teacher shows pictures of some famous persons that the students are interested in.
T: Do you know him?
Ss: Lu Han!
T:When is his birthday?
Lead the students to answer by the PPT.
Let the students work in pairs. Ask and answer about your deskmates’ birthdays.
[设计意图]切合青少年娱乐生活的话题激发学生学习相关英语知识的兴趣,也使学生在轻松愉快的氛围中学习。
4 Consolidation
Do a survey.
Ask questions to your friends and fill the chart.
[设计意图]学以致用,巩固所学的词汇和句型,锻炼英语口头表达能力。
5. Homework
Ask your parents about their birthdays and write down and remember.
[设计意图]引导学生关心家人,培养他们正确的的情感价值观。
