Unit 7 Sales Promotion  销售促销 EX-Works(EXW) This term is the simplest one of delivery of all which is based on the sale at the place of production and storage.The profit margin is nearly to zero.As we know there is no venture,there is no profit.The implementation of the EXW is nearly the same as domestic transaction. Under this term,the exporter has to provide goods and basic packing(special packing chargeable on the importer)as contracted for the importer.Sometimes the exporter is required to supply some documents necessary to export the goods from his country,such as a certificate of origin,but at the customers expense.Property and risk pass to the importer when the goods are notified as available.All expense are borne by the importer onwards, even including the charges for the goods to be cleared the customs in the exporters country. This term represents the minimum obligation for the seller.It should not be used when the buyer cannot carry out directly or indirectly the export formalities FOB(Named Port of Shipment) free on Board means that the seller fullfills his obligation to deliver when the goods have passed over the ships rail at the named port of shipment. This means that the buyer has to bear all costs and risks of loss of or damage to the goods from that point.FOB terms requries the seller to clear the goods for export.
