Ⅰ. Teaching contents

Ⅱ. Teaching aims
Be able to listen, speak, read and write the four key words: windy, sunny, rainy, snowy and cloudy.
Be able to understand the weather words in the weather report and try to report the weather with the new words.
Be able to use the new sentences and words in the daily life.

PPT, chant video

Key words: windy, sunny, rainy, snowy, cloudy
Key sentences: ----What’s the weather like? ---- It’s ... In ...
Ⅴ. Teaching important points
Put into use of the new words and new sentences.
Be able to make a simple weather report with the knowledge in this period.
Ⅵ. Teaching process
A. Greetings
B. Review and leading
Show some pictures in different seasons and play the background music of CCTV weather report. Lead students into today’s subject: weather report.
Review some words about weather: warm, cold, cool,hot.
C. Presentation
Show five pictures about different weather, teach the new words in the sentences as following.
T: What’s the weather like?
Ss: It’s windy/ cloudy/ rainy/ sunny/snowy.
In pairs, students check if they can read the five words correctly.
Read after the tape together and in groups.
Ⅶ. Practice
Check
Show the pictures of the weather, check if the students grasp the words. Choose in random, students practice over and over again.
Chant
Play a chant about weather words. Students listen for the first time. Read the chant after the tape and check together. Clap the rhythm while chant for the second time. Chant with the accompaniment.
Ⅷ. Consolidation and development
1. Game time
Show the PPT, here we have eight choices, there’s a picture after each one, but we don’t know what they are. Each group choose one opinion, talk and describe the weather with the words we know. Each group choose one student to report. Then everyone should be able to challenge. During the time, th
