Study on the excessive vibration of a prestressed box beam bridge

Abstract: During a vehic le p assed through a prestressed box beam bridge, shock load w as applied to
the g irders due to the bum p ing at the bridge abutm ent and expan sion jo ints. A s the mi p act ing energy
w as enough to excite the effect o f w aves. prop agation, an excessive vibration of the beam w ill be in-
duced. A dynam ica l d ifferentia l equat ion about the specia l phenom enon is derived, a series influence
factors are con sidered and feasib le contro l strategy is presented.
