Compulsory course . On the course list of the syllabus 1.1.2 Aims of the course 1) To master basic knowledge about: translation theories; differences between the Chinese and English languanges; differences between Western culture and Chinese culture. 2) To master some general skills of translation 3) To improve translation ability 4) To develop appreciative and creative power 1.2 Qualifications translation learners need to have 1.2.1 A good mastery of both the Chinese and the English languanges 1.
