Abstract With the vigorous development of the tourism industry, the quality of the envirorment is inereasingly threated. The number of visitors that a tourism resort can accommodate is not without limits, on the contray, due to the excessive density of visitors, it will lead to many environmental, economic and social contradictions, and even affect the sustainable development of regional tourism. As one of the world famous historical and cultural city, tourism has become a pillar industry of the Dunhang, and how to achieve sustainable tourism development has become a problem. In this article the author does some research on the current situation of TEBC of Dunhang and inquire into how to regulate it. Based on great amount of the literatures at home and abroad ， bought and assimilated the essence of the already research results and considered the real situation and characteristics of Dunhang，this paper structured the assessment indictor system of tourism environment bearing capacity of Dunhang. This Paper collectes the statistical data of Dunhang’economics, society, environment and tourism, and then calculates the the reaseasonable EEBC, REBC, DEBC, PEBC of the main scenic spots. The result shows that: According to the “bucket theory”, the anthor comes to that the major limiting factor of the TEBC in Dunhang is the REBC, and the Water supply capacity is the minimum limiting factor of it ,the second limiting factors are the EEBC and the DEBC. Tourists and local residents still have a optimistic attitude to the tourism development. The annual rate of utilization of the Dunhang is weak loaded, in the peak tourist season appears weak, and in the Tourism off-season appears serious weak too. In the Peak tourist season, the core scenic attractions overload, and the peripheral spots does not reach saturation, the problem of the bearing capacity in the Dunhang is the inequality of the distribution of passengers’ travel time and space .
