ABSTRACTABSTRACT ABSTRACT ABSTRACT OFDM technology has experienced rapid development in the recent years．And has been considered as one of the most important physical layer technologies of beyond 3G wireless systems． In this paper,first key technologies of OFDM system and the channel model which will be used by the latter channel estimation will be introduced．Then IEEE802_20 channel model and a typical urban channel model are built under built OFDM simulation platform． Then in order to reduce complexity and trace channel better,Channel estimation based on Kaiman filter is used．Two kinds of Frequency channel estimation methods with Kalman filter are firstly presented．One traces channel according tO OFDM symbol，and the other one traces channel by every sub-carrier．This latter one is simpler than the former one，however it can’t totally utilize correlation of channel．So a time domain Kahnan filer channeI estimation method is introduced．State space model is set up and in this paper an improved method is provided about the state vector correlation matrix．LS and DD methods are also included in the process of time domain chaimeI estimation．Then channel estimation methods are used in IEEE 802．20 channel model and a typical urban channel model．From simulation results， we call see a better BER perfofinance is obtained compared with other traditonal channel estimation methods． In case of reducing power use and improving spectrum usage，bit and power allocation methods are introduced in this paper．An optimized bit and power allocation algorithm is introduced in SISO system．Additionally,MIMO system is decomposed by SVD(Singular Valuse Decomposition)method．Then the same optimized bit and power allocation algorithm is extended to MIMO OFDM system． At last，FPGA implementation of FFT-one of key moduls of OFDM system is introduced．With ISE and Modelsim software，fuctional verification，circuit synthesis and precision analysis are conducted． ABSTRACTKey ABSTRACT Key Words：OFDM，channel est
