Unit 2 Suspension System and Axle Drive Shaft Assembly(传动轴总成) Differential Action in Straight Ahead Driving(直线行驶时差速器的运动) Differential Action When Turning A Corner(转向时差速器的运动) Differential Components(差速器的组成) Translation Skill (7) 反译法 反译法是指翻译时突破原文形式,如原文是肯定的,译文用否 定;原文是否定的,译文用肯定。 1. Don’t lose time in carrying out the plan. 2. Metal do not melt until heated to a definite temperature. Worm gear drives are quiet. 2. His explanation is far from satisfactory. * * 1. Description (1) Suspension 1) Front suspension Front-suspension system design must provide good ride and stability characteristics. In addition, the front suspension must make provision for turning the front wheels to both right and left for turning corners. Straight ahead directional control is also provided for primarily by the front-suspension system. Because of weight transfer during braking, the front-suspension system absorbs most of the braking torque. All these factors result in the front-suspension system requiring more frequent servicing than the rear-suspension system. suspension Several types of front-suspension system designs must be considered. These are long and short arm, single control arm, mono beam, and twin I-beam. All these suspension systems are used by manufacturers and may be found on front-wheel-drive, rear-wheel-drive, or four-wheel-drive vehicles. 2) Rear suspension A variety of rear-suspension system designs are being used for both driving and non driving rear axles. This includes both non independent and independent suspension types. The driving axle types must provide the means for transmitting both driving and braking torque. The non driving rear suspension must provide the means for braking torque only. All rear-suspension systems must
