Unit 15 We are trying to save the manatees.
Teaching aims (教学目标)

(1) Key Vocabulary: belong, belong to, must, may, might, could, can’t
(2)Target Language: Whose book is this?
It must/may/might/could/can’t be Mary’s.
The soccer ball might be John’s or Tony’s.
It’s much too small for him.
2. Ability Objects:
(1) Train students’ listening skill.
(2) Train students’ communicative competence using the target language.
3. Moral Objects
When you are on a picnic, remember to bring litter back to keep our environment clean and tidy.

This activity introduces the key vocabulary.
Point to the picture and ask, What items in the picture do you know? What items are new to you? Read the words. Explain the meanings of the words .belong to, author and picnic.
Belong means to be owned by somebody.
An author is a writer of a book or a play.
A picnic is a meal eaten out of doors.
Step Ⅲ Leading in
Show the students a box full of different items, such as a pencil, a set of keys, a phone and so on. Ask a volunteer to come to the front. Tell the volunteer to close their eyes and choose one item from the box. Ask the volunteer “What do you think it is? Are you sure? Help the Ss to answer “ It must / could /might/can’t be a/an...”
Step Ⅳ Drill
This activity provides oral practice using the target language. Show some pictures on the screen to help the students practice conversations. We can practice between the teacher and the student or between the students. Get different pairs of students to say their conversations to the class. L
