山东科技大学学士论文 附录 A New Type of PWM Rectifier with Function of Harmonic Suppression and Reactive Power Compensation 1.INTRODUCTION PWM rectifier is a kind of power electronic devices which achieves rectification. With the wide application of power electronic devices in power grid, industry, transportation and family, nonlinear load is increasing greatly which leads to current waveform containing a large number of harmonics and reactive component.This brings great harm to electricity production and transmission and affects the application of electronic devices. In fact,appropriate controls of PWM rectifier can suppress the harmonics and rectify reactive power meanwhile improve the output current waveform with no additional compensation device. This plays an important role in harmonic suppression and power quality improvement.Single rectifier capacity is limited, if a large number of new rectifiers are designed with harmonic and reactive power compensation,total compensation is very impressive from the point of view of the total power capacity for the grid. Therefore,PWM rectifier is a kind of small-power multi-machine distributed compensation for the grid harmonic and reactive. This paper has promoted a new type of PWM rectifier that has the function of harmonic suppression and reactive power compensation. 2. PWM RECTIFIER WORKING PRINCIPLE PWM rectifier with proper control absorbs active current from the grid and turns it into direct current to the load. It sends the reverse reactive power and harmonic current to the power grid in order to compensate the reactive power and harmonic produced by nearby electrical equipment. Energy can bidirectionally flow in the PWM rectifier. This reflects the characteristics of AC/DCconverter and also shows DC/AC converter characteristics.Thus precisely speaking, this type PWM rectifier is actually a new type of reversible PWM converter.
