Knowledge aims
a. Learn and master the sentence structure:
be(not) supposed/expected to do sth
b. Learn about customs about greeting, time, dressing in different countries and the different table manners between western countries and China
c. Learn how to behave well when we meet people from different countries and what we’re supposed to do, when we are in different countries,
d. Introduce Chinese table manners.
Ability aims
a. To develop students’ abilities of listening, speaking and writing
b. Enable the students to know some customs as well as getting useful information from them.
Emotions attitudes and moral values
Arouse?students’?cultural?awareness. Make students understand the importance of knowing different customs and respecting others’ customs. It’s helpful to learn as many customs as possible. To be a polite person and please others.
Teaching key points and difficulties
a. Enable the students to master the key sentence structures.
b. Be able to talk about different customs and what people are supposed to do.
c. The difficulty is to train the students’ listening, speaking and writing skills using the target language.
Teaching process

Lead in and arouse students’ cultural awareness.
