Teaching Methods 1.Reading comprehension to help students grasp the main idea of the text. 2.Groupwork to make every student work in class. Teaching Aids 1.A projector 2.The blackboard Teaching Procedures Step 1: Warming up Show some pictures of France and listen to a pop song, let students guess the place. Step 2 : Presentation Show some tableware, revise the words : fork, spoon, plate… Let Ss take a quiz , tell true or false about the table manners. Step 3 : Reading This activity provides reading practice using the target language. Teach the new words. Show the following new words on the screen by a projector. manner n. 礼貌;风格;习惯 basic adj 基本的 behave v. 行为表现;举止 be/get used to 习惯于…… cut up 切开;切碎 elbow n. 肘;肘部 gradually adv. 逐渐地;渐渐地 Let students read paragraph 1 quickly, answer the first question. Ask students to read paragraph 1 again, answer the second question. Say, Now read paragraph 1. Underline the answers in your book. As students work, move around the classroom and offer help as necessary. Check the answers with the class. Answers 1.Her host family was really nice. 2.They go out their way to make her feel at home.
