From now on, you are a nice grader. Congratulations! I wish you a great success this year! T: Today we will learn Unit 1 How can we become good learners? Learning how to learn is very important. And learning how to pass a test is also important for you. I know some of you have got pretty high scores in the final exam of last term. Now I want to invite some students to share how they study English ……. Step 2 : help students learn to say ‘by +doing’ phrases, such as ‘by working with friends’; ‘by making word cards, by reading the textbook, by listening to tapes, by asking the teachers for help…….’ Step 3: activity 1a-1c 1). Ask students to complete 1a.then read these phrases for several times. 2).Play the recording for the students to listen and complete 1b. Then check answers. 3). The teacher asks two students to read the conversations in 1c. Then ask other students to make conversations by using the same structure. S1: how do you study for a test? S2: I study by working with friends. Step 4: listening (2a-2b) Ask students to read the questions in 2a. Make sure they understand the meaning of each question. Ask them to listen and check the answers they hear. Ask students to read the sentences in 2b. Then listen and mach each answer with a question in 2a. Ask several students to share their answers. Homework: Make conversations by using the structures learnt in this lesson; Recite new words; prepare the next lessons.
