Personal Statement Dear teachers: On the Valentine’s Day in 2014, I am trotting in the drizzle that night, with a bunch of roses in hands. All streets were ablaze with lights, and everyone was all smiles, including me. But don’t get me wrong, I am not one of those sweet couples. Instead, I am an industrious girl/boy, busy struggling with my little rose business. I have always remembered the first time I revealed my fabulous business idea—at least from my point of view—to my friends, most of them simply thought I might be leisurely or somehow lacked of money. Anyway, I still stick to my colors though. Selling flowers seems an ordinary job to peddle my kardinal and tineke , but it was much more difficult than it looked, virtually. I spent two full weeks preparing it, during which period I encountered numerous barriers. From studying varieties of rose, comparing their prime cost and market information to searching for the supply of flowers as well as selecting the selling site, freshness in my heart was replaced by the enthusiastic inspired through the hardship bit by bit. Apart from this, I also ordered a pile of wrapping paper on the Internet and packed all bouquets on my own. Tired as I am, I remained effervescent all day along. When all the roses ware sold out, I hugged my parents tightly, rejoicing in the success I achieved. What an indelible recollection it is! Even until today, that thrilling memory was still vivid in my mind. Literally speaking, it was indeed a turning point in my whole, not so long life. Curiosity has been driving me to explore life in all aspects. And it is my dear parents’ back that enables me to stay motivated and be ready for the next adventure in this unknown world. During this transitory experience, not only did I earn my first pot of gold, but I exploited my merit of communicating as well as become more mature and independent.
