Teaching aims:
Ss can listen, read and say main sentence patterns:
What are …’s hobbies? He/She likes …(V+ing)
2. Ss can read and say the sentence:I’m going to teach him the Chinese song”Jasmine Flower”!
3.Ss can understand the dialogue andplay in role.
Teaching importance and difficulties:
1. The sentences: What are …’s hobbies? He likes .
2. The third person singular present form.
3. The pronunciation of “interesting、Jasmine flower”

Purposes
Step1 Warm-up/ Review
Let’s chant: Reading, reading. I like reading stories.
Dancing, dancing, I like dancing.
Singing, singing ,I like singing.
Playing, playing, I like playing football.
Doing, doing, I like doing kung fu.
Game:Quick eyes
Ss read the words as quickly as they can.
Brain storm:answer the question
1.Who’s your best friend?
2.What’s he/she like?
3.What’s his/ her hobby?
活跃课堂,为新知做好铺垫。
用游戏复习动名词形式,以便学生能更快地接受新句型。
Step 2 Presentation/practice
1. Show the pictures of Peter
T: Who is he ? He is Peter. He is zhangpeng’s penpal.
2. Teach “pen pal”
(T)Now many friends talk in letters or by E-mail or on QQ .We call them pen pal.
Ss read “pen pal ”one by one
3. T:Where does he from? He is from New Zealand.
4.Let’s try
(T)Listen and answer questions.
5.Introduce Peter
(T)Can you guess Peter’s hobbies?
6. Teach: What are Peter’s hobbies? He likes…
