Teaching aims and demands:
Ss will be able to learn, read, and write the sentence pattern “Where is the museum shop?It’s near the door.”
Ss can use the sentences “Is there a …. Where is …? It’s near\next to\ behind….” in daily life.
Ss will be able to understand the differences between “next to” and “near”.
Teaching emphases and difficulties:
1. Ss can use the sentences “Is there a …. Where is …? It’s near\next to\ behind….” correctly.
2. Ss can read the sentences “ I want to send it today.” “I’ll ask.” correctly.
4. Ss can distinguish and use the words “next to” and “near”.

Teaching steps:
Step 1:Warm-up
1.Greeting.
2.Look at my small town.
(1) Review the words (2) Ask and answer “ Is there a …?” “ Yes, it is. \No, it isn’t.”
Step 2 : Presentation
1. Present the sentence I want to send it today .
T show an envelope and say “ Where will I go ? Can you guess?”
Ss : “post office.”
T: Yes, I want to send it today .( Teach the sentence.)
Present the words “next to” and “near”. And distinguish them
T: where is the post office?
Ss: It’s next to the bookstore.( Teach “next to”.)
T: We also can say “ It’s near the bookstore.”
Look at the picture again,and ask “ where is the post office?”
Ss: It’s near the science museum. ( Teach “near”.)
T: Yes, but we can’t say “It’s next to the science museum.
T makes some examples to explain the the differences between “next to” and “near”.
2. Make dialogues with parterns.
A: I want… . Is there a… ?
B: Yes.
A: Where is it ?
B: It’s near\ next to… .
Present the dialogue.
Listen and answer: Where is the post office?
Read after the tape.
Act it out.
Step3: Practice and Consolidation
Listen and finish “Let’s try”.
Look at a chant.
Go to the hospital.
See a doctor.
Where is it ?
It’s near the bridge.
Make a chant.
Go to ________.
______________.
Where is it ?
It’s __________ .
